Description
The Edwards Lifesciences Mitral Repair Ring portfolio comprises three specialized models engineered to address specific mechanisms of mitral regurgitation:
- Physio II®: a semi-rigid anatomical ring that maintains the physiological shape of the mitral annulus throughout the cardiac cycle. Its titanium core covered with polyester provides balanced flexibility and stability, minimizing leaflet stress. Ideal for degenerative and myxomatous valve disease.
- Physio Flex®: a fully flexible ring designed to replicate the natural motion of the mitral annulus during systole. It is particularly indicated when maximum leaflet mobility and physiological coaptation are desired. Its dynamic design preserves laminar flow and enhances long-term valve function.
- IMR ETlogix®: an asymmetric semi-rigid ring specifically developed for ischemic mitral regurgitation. It corrects posterior annular dilation and restores leaflet coaptation while supporting left ventricular geometry recovery after infarction.
All rings are biocompatible, with reinforced sewing cuffs, radiopaque markers, and low-profile anatomical shapes for precise implantation.
These devices enable surgeons to repair rather than replace the native mitral valve, preserving ventricular function and achieving durable clinical outcomes.
